I think I would literally weep salty tears of joy if someone gave me this beautiful Unearthen necklace. The little vial contains drops of Pacific Ocean water (it also comes in crude oil and holi powder versions.) I never ever stop missing the West Best Coast, but the holiday season can be especially rough on the ol' heart strings.

Of course, this has also got me thinking about ways I could just DIY one for myself next time I'm out west where I belong...uh, anyone know a good home tutorial for hermetic sealing??

ah i totally agree. christmas is best spent at home, and when you can't its harrrdd. These pendants are such a nice subtle reminder of home home.

i'm with you there. instead of indulging in the pacific northwest warm (ish), green and misty christmas, i'm digging out of a foot and a half of snow just to make it to the bloody grocery store!

well at least i'll get to spend the new years on the best coast. and hopefully you can make it out there as well!

Ah Emmy, you and I, we feel the same pain! My sister lives in Bellingham, which is where my family usually congregates for Christmas. I'll be missing the lights in Fairhaven this year, but I'll be home in the middle of January for a while to get my fill of fir trees and mud and mist.

We're going to miss you on Christmas, but really, really looking forward to January.

Those necklaces are beautiful! I love the way the crude oil looks in that vial.

these remind me of rice necklaces that used to be sold at amusement parks. where they have someone write your name on a tiny grain of rice and then put it in a tiny vile... i wonder where mine ended up!

i recently decided that it would be okay for me to move away from the west coast, where i have lived my whole life (born in la, ran around in the nor cal bay area and foothills, schooled in the valley, started my "adult" life in the northwest). maybe taking a piece of the west coast with me would make the move a little easier. thank you for sharing!
